Subconscious control

Today I want to talk to you about something that I find really interesting and impressive – about our unconscious mind.

Dr Bruce Lipton, a former professor of medicine at Stanford University, says that a new study/ science of epigenetics has shown that our genes are controlled and manipulated by the way our minds perceive and interpret our environment. Actually, the studies have shown that most of our decisions, actions, emotions and behavior depend on the 95% of brain activity that is beyond our conscious awareness, which means that 95 – 99% of our life comes from the programming in our subconscious mind.

Dr Lipton also says that our attitude and reactions towards our life in general, positive or negative, can change many things such as the way we evolve, our health & behaviour. A positive mindset can improve our way of living – healthier & better quality lives. On the other side a negative mindset can destroy us slowly and ruin everything we are.

My mother has a friend who was going through a very stressful, tough time. Months later , living this horrible life she found out other negative news – the possibility of having cancer. A thing that my mom always told me – something that she truly believes in – is that these health problems like cancer come from “inside” – from our minds. You see, as the study has shown, our brains are way more powerful than we think… so as you might have already heard “what’s on the inside will show up on the outside”.

If you are wondering what happened with my mother’s friend…well she decided to change her negative, hopeless mindset into a positive one. Of course she had to work hard to achieve that mental & spiritual balance but she did and as her negative thoughts & perceptions about her life/ situations faded away, so did the cancer.

Can we control our subconscious?  Yes, through patience, discipline & practice.

Because I’m on my journey of finding my true self & because I’m all about personal growth & improvement, I came up with some tips on how to gain that control over your unconscious mind:

  • Meditate. Meditation will not only help you relax, but will allow you to “turn off” your conscious thinking. Doing this you are going to be able to face your true feelings & thoughts, helping you to gradually find spiritual and mental balance.
  • Write a journal. Writing down your thoughts and ideas can help you visualise your situation & attitude better and maybe spot some problems faster.
  • Be creative & get artsy . In order to create works that are expressing true feelings, you require the use of the subconscious. Even if you don’t feel that artistic, give it a try. Who knows? Maybe you are going to surprise yourself in the process of learning to control your mind through the ability of creating.
  • Start the day off with a positive mindset. After waking up, first thing in the morning tell yourself that everything is going to be perfect.
  • Allow yourself to rest.  Once in a while take a break from your phone, from social media sites – instead read a book, take a walk, start working out, take a nice fancy bath, look at the stars, watch the sunrise/ sunset etc.

“We’ve all experienced pondering a problem all day long only to find we receive the solution when forgetting about the problem and thinking of something else. When we stop concentrating so hard, we allow our subconscious to flourish, and those who do this more than others are often called geniuses.”
